Current Truth
Current truth is the present reviewed account, not a claim that uncertainty has ended.
Current account
Section titled “Current account”TM-CUR-001 — One current selection. Within a declared coherence boundary, an implementation MUST provide one deterministic answer to which accepted records or values are current.
TM-CUR-002 — Accepted-only current state. Proposed, failed, stale, unreviewed, or merely observed claims MUST NOT appear as accepted current truth.
TM-CUR-003 — Explicit uncertainty. Current truth MUST represent material unknowns, conflicts, qualifications, and uncertainty explicitly rather than laundering them into empty fields or confident prose.
TM-CUR-004 — Human meaning. Stored values whose meaning is not self-evident MUST carry or deterministically resolve to the human meaning on which people are expected to act.
Ancestry
Section titled “Ancestry”TM-CUR-005 — Consequential ancestry. Every consequential current record or value MUST be traceable to the accepted change that established it and the evidence supporting that change at the appropriate grain.
TM-CUR-006 — Supersession without erasure. Correcting current truth MUST preserve the prior accepted record and the change that superseded it. The system MUST NOT rewrite history to make the new account appear always true.
TM-CUR-007 — Source versus judgment. A current value MUST remain distinguishable from a source observation about that value when the distinction is material.
Ownership
Section titled “Ownership”TM-CUR-008 — No mirrored authority. A truth system MUST NOT copy another system’s changing current state and represent the copy as independently authoritative. It may retain exact-revision observations or conclusions whose scope and staleness are explicit.
TM-CUR-009 — Explicit handoff. When authority for a class of current truth moves to another system, the handoff MUST identify the receiving authority, effective boundary, and durable transition. The predecessor MUST NOT continue evolving a competing current account.
Projection versus full record
Section titled “Projection versus full record”A typed current projection over fuller records is a useful implementation pattern, not a requirement. When used, the projection, human index, and full records must not disagree. The reference implementation demonstrates that pattern under the Git-native profile.
